“Our team demolished a network of kutcha roads in an unauthorised colony, situated at Ganauli village of the district,” said Rajesh Kumar, District Town Planner (DTP), Yamunanagar.

The DTP said as per the instructions of Deputy Commissioner Parth Gupta, the demolition was being undertaken at unauthorised colonies of Yamunanagar district. He said notices were issued to the defaulters as per rules under Controlled Area 41 of 1963, but they did not follow the departmental orders. He further said the land owners did not take the necessary permissions before setting up the said illegal colony, therefore, the demolition action was taken.

He appealed to the people of the district not to invest their money in such unauthorised colonies and contact the DTP office before buying a plot.

“Before carrying out any construction in the controlled area, one can apply on the portal of the Town and Country Planning Department to obtain permission for land use change and if required, the District Town Planner’s office can be contacted for more information on any working day,” said DTP Rajesh Kumar.
