Women’s self-help groups were addressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Lakhpati Didi Mahasammelan’ in West Bengal via videoconferencing, with live broadcast in all tehsils of the districts.

In the series, a programme was held at the local panchayat bhawan in Sirsa. BJP leader Jaswinder Pal Pinky was the chief guest, having come on behalf  MP Sunita Duggal.

Pinky said the ‘Lakhpati Didi’ initiative programme was recently started by the Centre under the National Rural Livelihood Mission, in which women who had created various employment opportunities had been identified.

By doing this, they had increased their family’s income to Rs 1 lakh and more annually. The Central and state governments had started the schemefor uplifting and empowering women, she added.

During the programme, detailed information about drones funded by the Department of Agriculture and Farmer Welfare was provided to the women from the self-help groups, along with training in drone operation. These drones will be provided to them on subsidy, enabling them to spray pesticides and other medicines in the fields to sustain their livelihood.

Ellenabad: The programme for the self-help groups in Ellenabad and Chaupta was organised at the BDO Office, where the Prime Minister’s programme was live-streamed. BJP district president Nitasha Rakesh Sihag participated in the event as the chief guest, along with BJP leader Meera Rani, who attended the programme as the chief guest in the Rania region.

Nitasha stated that the government was working to make women self-reliant through the Rural Development Authority. She said today, women from self-help groups were not only working to provide economic stability to themselves and their families but also creating employment opportunities for other women.

Dabwali: Under the ‘Lakhpati Didi’ programme, an event  was organised at the regional office in the Dabwali region. Nisha Grover, the mandal president of the BJP Mahila Morcha, participated in the programme as the chief guest. She stated that under the guidance of PM Narendra Modi and CM Manohar Lal, the state government had taken important steps to  empower women and make them self-reliant.
