A special legal team has been set up to provide legal support to farmers and farmer unions and assist them in the ongoing “Dilli Chalo” agitation. Advocate Akhil Chaudhary will be the coordinator of the legal team. Other members of the legal team are advocates Pankaj Shyoran (Hisar), Aditi Shyoran (Chandigarh), Vartika Tripathi (Delhi), Mohit Tomar (Delhi) and Kapil Kuhar (Jaipur).
The protesting farmers have been camping at the Shambhu and Khanauri points on Punjab’s border with Haryana to press the Centre to accept their demands, including a legal guarantee for minimum support price for crops, was halted by multiple layers of barricades, concrete blocks and a huge deployment of security personnel.
