According to information, a leopard was spotted in the bushes in a field near the village on Tuesday evening. “I, along with a friend, was standing in a field around 7 pm. We saw an animal sitting quietly in the bushes. At first we thought it was a dog, but when I turned on the torch of my mobile phone, we saw a leopard there,” Manik told the media.

He and his friend fled the spot and sat in their car. He made a video of the leopard on his phone while sitting in the car and informed the police. The Wildlife Department was also alerted.

Lilu Ram, Inspector with the Wildlife Department, said a team had been sent to the village, but they could not find the leopard. "It might have gone to the nearby forest area. Our team is keeping a close watch in the area. We have also put up a cage in the fields to catch the leopard,” he said.
