On a day the Congress sounded the poll bugle for the Assembly elections, the BJP hit at its dynastic politics saying that the lies spread by ‘baap, beta’, an obvious reference to former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and his MP son Deepender Hooda, would fail to cut ice with the electorate.

“The ‘baap-beta’ and other Congress leaders have lost credibility. The Congress leaders are trying every trick to mislead voters to get votes but the people have seen through their game. There is rampant factionalism in the Congress and the party had not even been able to announce its chief ministerial candidate,” Biplab Deb, Haryana election co-incharge for BJP, said here today.

Targeting Hooda and his son, Deb charged them with misleading people and indulging in casteism. “It is the same Congress which was instrumental in pulling down the government headed by one of the tallest Jat leaders and ex-PM Charan Singh. On the other hand, the BJP honoured Charan Singh with the Bharat Ratna and nominated another Jat leader, Jagdeep Dhankhar, as Vice-President, the second highest constitutional office in the country,” he said.
