Light rains across state, Met Department issues orange alert

Due to the impact of Western Disturbance today, almost all parts of the state experienced light rain on Sunday. Rain occurred in many districts, including Bhiwani, Hisar, Fatehabad, Sirsa, Rewari, Charkhi Dadri, Jhajjar, Rohtak, Nuh, and Gurugram.

In Hisar, 13 mm of rainfall was recorded and 14 mm in Narnaul. Winter rain disturbed normal life, but is highly beneficial for rabi crops. The Indian Meteorological Department, however, has issued an orange alert for the next two days and predicted fog to dense fog till January 15.

As a result of cloud cover and rain, daytime temperatures are expected to drop in most areas, while night temperatures may rise.

The average maximum temperature today saw a slight decrease of 0.3°C compared to yesterday, but is still 2.3°C below normal. The highest recorded maximum temperature in the state is 17.9°C, at Indri in Karnal district.

On the other hand, the average minimum temperature has risen by 1.2°C compared to yesterday. It is now 1.7°C above normal across the state. The lowest minimum temperature was recorded at 5.9°C at Saragthal. These changes in temperature reflect the ongoing influence of the Western Disturbance, contributing to fluctuating weather conditions across Haryana, the IMD stated.
