Haryana Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Krishan Bedi assured that action is being taken against those responsible for the tragic suicide of a Dalit girl in Loharu. Speaking to the media, Bedi said an FIR has been filed and the police are working diligently to apprehend the accused.

Responding to tweets from Congress leaders criticising the government’s handling of the case, Bedi countered that these leaders should focus on demanding action against the culprits rather than defending them.

“An FIR was registered at Loharu police station on December 27 based on a complaint from the victim’s father, who alleged that the college principal and his brother mentally and physically tortured the girl,” Bedi said. “The police are actively pursuing the accused and justice will be done.”

The minister pointed out that the college in question had been promoting free education and transport facilities in the area. He mentioned that videos featuring the local MLA discussing these initiatives are circulating on social media.

He also targeted Congress leaders for their remarks on the case. “Instead of tweeting half-heartedly, these leaders should focus on demanding action against the culprits. Their tweets appear to shield those responsible,” Bedi alleged.

Bedi questioned why Congress leaders remained silent during incidents such as the Mirchpur violence. He directly called out former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, asking, “Will Hooda now ask his MLA about this matter?”

The minister urged Congress leaders to retract their tweets and join efforts to seek justice for the victim. “The government stands firmly with the victim's family and is committed to ensuring justice,” he stated.

Reiterating the government’s stance, Bedi condemned the incident and assured that action would be taken against the accused without delay.
