A joint team of the Mines and Geology Department and Haryana State Enforcement Bureau has impounded two tippers and an earth moving machine involved in illegal mining activity from Dekriwala village. Dr Rajesh Kumar, Assistant Mining Engineer, Mines and Geology Department, Yamunanagar, said they had been receiving complaints related to illegal mining of minerals at Dekriwala village.

He said the illegally mined mineral was being sold at Belgarh Crusher Zone, situated close to the village. “For the past one week, the Mining Department, SHO of Pratap Nagar police station and state Enforcement Bureau had been making efforts to apprehend the persons and vehicles involved in illegal mining on the spot,” said Dr Rajesh Kumar.
