He was here to hold a meeting with party workers. Speaking to mediapersons, the former Deputy CM said, “The law and order situation has deteriorated in the state. Firing, murder and extortion incidents are being reported on a regular basis and the policemen are being deployed to protect the liquor vends instead of the public. Haryana was a safe state, but the CM has no control over the Police Department and it is the prime reason behind the current situation. Anil Vij was a better Home Minister and the law and order situation was under control during our government. We suggest the BJP to make Anil Vij Home Minister again, so that it may improve the situation.”
Dushyant Chautala said, “Party leaders and workers will visit the grain markets and raise the farmers’ issues. Farmers in Kurukshetra have suffered heavy losses due to overflowing Markanda river and untimely rains. We demand that the farmers should be provided relaxation in moisture content in paddy procurement and every single grain should be procured by the government agencies. The recent rains have further caused damage to the standing crop, but the government is yet to make any statement. The Chief Minister should announce compensation for the farmers.”
Taking a dig at former CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Dushyant Chautala said the former CM had no achievements during his tenure as the Chief Minister and then the Leader of the Opposition. — TNS
