Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini today launched a sharp attack on West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee alleging that her government was focused on appeasing a particular section while the public, especially women, continued to face harassment and exploitation.

Speaking to mediapersons here today, Saini alleged that the Hindu community was being targeted in West Bengal and instead of fulfilling her constitutional responsibilities, Mamata was indulging in discriminatory politics.

He alleged that Banerjee was engaging in vote-bank politics. He alleged that the state’s social structure had been weakened by giving place to outsiders, which was why initiatives like SIR were being opposed.

On being asked to comment on the failure of the Punjab Government to deliver benefits to women under the schemes that it had announced, Saini criticised the Aam Aadmi Party government in Punjab. The AAP government had no real work to show, he said, adding that the condition of the Congress was no different than other Opposition parties.
