Sonepat, March 8

A 36-year-old man along with his four-year-old son allegedly committed suicide by jumping before a running train near Bandepur village of Sonepat district on Sunday night under suspicious circumstances.

The General Railway Police (GRP) reached the spot and recovered the dead bodies of father-son duo.

The deceased have been identified as Kaptan Singh of Kultana village in Rohtak district and his 4-year-old son Naman.

The bodies were handed over to the victims’ kin after postmortem examination on Monday, said SHO, GRP, Rajkumar.

The man along with his son jumped before Kalka-Delhi mail, he said.

Singh, who was working as a guest teacher in a government school in Jharoda, Delhi, had left the house along with his son Naman on Sunday afternoon.

The family members refused to comment on the reasons behind the suicide, said the SHO.

Action would be initiated as per the statements of the victims’ family members, he added.
