An area resident has alleged that his eye was damaged following a cataract surgery at PGIMS-Rohtak.

Raju Singh, a resident of Ismaila village in the district, had raised a complaint in this regard at a recent meeting of the District Grievances Committee.

The PGIMS administration has maintained that the patient had also made a complaint on the CM Window, following which he was called to the institute, but he refused to submit a statement or sign necessary documents.

A probe panel headed by the ADC was constituted to inquire the matter.

Rohtak Civil Surgeon Dr Ramesh Chander, who is on the probe panel, said an inquiry in this regard was underway, and would be completed by the upcoming meeting of the committee, scheduled for August 6.

The meeting will be chaired by Haryana Minister for Development, Panchayat, Mining and Geology Krishan Lal Panwar. The matter is among the 21 cases that will be addressed at the meeting.
