With the arrest of one person in a high-value theft case involving gold ornaments, coins and lakhs of rupees, the CIA-3 unit has claimed to have solved the case. The accused, arrested by CIA-3 from Meera Ghati Chowk, has been identified as Ashok Saini, a resident of Sector 16 in the city. He was apprehended with 11 tolas of stolen gold, one coin and Rs 11.5 lakh recovered from his possession, said Ajay Kumar, incharge CIA-3. He said the accused was working as a plumber at a reputed school for nearly eight years. On the night of August 28, he committed the theft by stealing gold jewellery and a large sum of cash from the school premises. A case was registered against him on August 29 at the city police station.
