Man arrested in youth’s murder case

The Panipat police have claimed to have solved and arrested a person for allegedly murdering a 25-years-old man at Vidyanand Colony here under the Operation Track Down.

The accused had reportedly murdered the man by assaulting him with a brick on his head and face on November 11. The deceased has been identified as Kamal of Vidyanand colony.

The accused has been identified as Danish of Vidyanand Colony. He was arrested from near Truck Union in Sector 25 here on Sunday night.

Inspector Mahipal, SHO, Chandnibagh, said the accused accepted his involvement in murdering Kamal. The accused revealed during the primary interrogation that he, along with Kamal was having a liquor party on the ground in the colony on November 11 night. His phone went missing. Meanwhile, he took Kamal’s mobile phone and talked to his mother.

As he cut the phone, Kamal started abusing him. To take revenge, he took an interlocking tile and attacked Kamal on his head. He was hit several times on his head and face. After murdering Kamal, he took his mobile phone and motorcycle and ran away to his maternal uncle’s house. He also took away LED from a limousine car and also broke the number plate of the motorcycle of the deceased.

Inspector Mahipal further said Kamal’s motorcycle was also recovered from Danish’s possession.

The police produced the accused in the court on Monday and the court sent him to two two-day police remand.

The accused already has a criminal record and two cases under the Arms Act and theft were registered against him earlier.

Notably, the Kamal’s body was found lying on the ground at Vidyanand colony on October 12 morning. Kamal’s brother Praveen suspected three youths of the colony for murdering his brother.

The Chandnibagh police have registered a case on the complaint of Praveen and begun a probe in the matter.
