Man beaten to death at bus stand

A person was beaten to death at the Sonepat bus stand on the intervening night of Thursday and Friday. The incident was recorded on CCTV cameras installed at the bus stand. The matter came to light when roadways employees found the body of the deceased near e-toilets on Friday morning. The employees then informed the police.

In the CCTV footage recovered by the police, a man could be seen entering the bus stand at 11.55 pm. Another person followed the man with a stick in his hand. The assailant then attacked the victim from behind on his head, causing the victim to fall down. The culprit continued to attack the man, and then dragged him behind some buses. Despite attempts by the police, the deceased and the assailant are yet to be identified. A police team, led by ACP (City) Rahul Dev, reached the spot and began an inquiry into the matter. According to the police, the deceased is said to be 35 years old.
