Kurukshetra, January 19

A man was shot dead while his wife suffered bullet injuries after unidentified assailants opened fires on them outside their house at Umri village on Friday evening.

The victims were identified as Subhash and his wife Suman. They were rushed to a private hospital in Kurukshetra where Subhash died, while Suman was under treatment.

As per information, two bike-borne assailants reached the house of Subhash. They asked Suman to call Subhash and as soon as he came out, the accused opened fire on them.

Kurukshetra Superintendent of Police Surinder Singh Bhoria said the victim had some old disputes. Efforts were being made to arrest the accused, he added.
