A man was found dead under mysterious circumstances on the way to the cremation ground in Manethi village on Monday morning.

The deceased has been identified as Naveen, a resident of the same village and a driver by profession.

According to reports, the body bore head injuries, suggesting that he may have been murdered.

The incident came to light when some villagers noticed the body early in the morning and informed the police. A police team rushed to the spot and sent the body to the civil hospital for a post-mortem examination.

A police official stated that, prima facie, it appears to be a case of murder, but further investigation is underway.
