Man gets 10-year jail term for raping daughter in Faridabad

The court of Faridabad Additional Sessions Judge Hemraj Mittal has sentenced a man to 10 years of imprisonment for raping his daughter. The court has also imposed a fine of Rs 60,000 on him.

The convict continued to have physical relations with his daughter for about four years after his wife’s death, following which the girl lodged a complaint with the police through an NGO in 2021.

According to the police, the 50-year-old man, a resident of Lakhimpur Kheri in Uttar Pradesh, lived in Ballabhgarh. The 14-year-old girl’s had stated that his father used to threaten her of dire consequences if she told anyone about it.

When the convict’s daughter became an adult, she had a love marriage on December 21 in 2017. After going to her in-laws’ home, the girl returned to her father along with her husband following a dispute with her mother-in-law, and started living with her father.

Whenever her husband went out for work, the convict would rape her. On June 12, 2021, she lodged a complaint with the police. Advocate Ravindra Gupta of Legal Cell said while hearing the case on Wednesday, the court sentenced the father to 10 years’ imprisonment and imposed a fine on him.
