Man gets 10-yr jail, fined Rs 50,000 for raping minor

The Court of Additional Sessions Judge Ashwani Kumar on Wednesday sentenced a man to 10-year imprisonment for raping a minor girl. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 50,000 on him.

According to the police, a man filed a complaint with the police stating that an unidentified person kidnapped his 15-year-old daughter on May 6, 2017. Acting on the complaint, a case was registered in this regard under relevant sections of the IPC at the Badshahpur police station.

During investigation, the police arrested the accused, identified as Kuldeep, a resident of Badshahpur. The police later added relevant sections of the POCSO Act to the FIR. The suspect was produced before a court, which sent him to judicial custody.

“On the basis of the chargesheet filed by the police, the Court of Additional Sessions Judge Ashwani Kumar on Wednesday sentenced the accused to undergo 10 years of imprisonment and also imposed a fine of Rs 50,000 on him,” said a spokesperson for the Gurugram Police.
