Man gets 10-yr jail for raping minor

A local court today sentenced a UP native, Raju, to 10-year imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs50,000 for raping a minor girl.
The court of Raj Gupta, Additional District and Sessions Judge sentenced the convict with imprisonment and ordered that out of the total fine, Rs40,000 shall be given to the victim. If the convict fails to pay, his imprisonment shall be increased.
The convict was booked under the POCSO Act in October 2017.
According to the police, a woman from UP had, on October 17, 2017, filed a complaint against Raju, a resident of Farrukhabad in UP, for raping and threatening her 17-year-old daughter.
The woman claimed her husband had left for work and she too had gone to see another rented accommodation in village after leaving her daughter along with her two other children at home, when the accused lured and raped her elder daughter. — OC
