The district court in Hisar sentenced a man to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment in a case of kidnapping and rape of a minor girl in the district. Additional District and Sessions Judge Sunil Jindal also imposed a fine of Rs 1 lakh on convict Manish.

A resident of a village under Sadar police station area had reported to the police that his 17-year-old daughter went missing on the night of September 24, 2021.

Later, the police found the girl and arrested the accused. The court convicted him under relevant Sections of the POCSO Act and the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for inducing and kidnapping the minor girl and raping her.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
