A 25-year-old man has been arrested in connection with demanding a ransom of Rs 10 lakh from a grocery shop owner.

The accused, Kuldeepallegedly contacted Keshav Jain, the owner of a grocery store in Adarsh Colony, on December 5. Kuldeep reportedly told Jain his son was being followed by unknown individuals and his life could be at risk unless a ransom of Rs 10 lakh was paid to ensure his safety.

The police stated their investigation is ongoing. So far, there is no indication Kuldeep is linked to any criminal gang. Authorities believe the ransom demand may have been an attempt by the accused to make quick money.
