The Gurugram police arrested a man while he was transporting camel meat in a pickup jeep on Saturday. The police recovered 500 kg of camel meat from his possession. An FIR was registered against the accused at the Shivaji Nagar police station.

According to the police, the cow protection team of the Gurugram police had received an information that the pick jeep was carrying camel meat to be sold in Delhi. The team set up a checkpoint at Rajiv Chowk and stopped the jeep.

“The accused has been identified as Farid. His vehicle and camel meat have been seized. We are questioning the accused,” said ASI Jagbir of the cow protection team. — OC
