The CIA-1 unit of the Kurukshetra police has arrested a miscreant and recovered an illegal weapon and two live cartridges from his possession. The accused was identified as Rakesh Kumar, a resident of Kaithal.

Kurukshetra police spokesman Naresh Kumar said that on July 19, the CIA-1 unit got a tip-off that a miscreant with a weapon was roaming in the parking area, near the VIP Ghat of the Brahma Sarovar. Rakesh Kumar was spotted near Brahma Sarovar and caught on the spot. During checking, a pistol and two live cartridges were recovered from his possession.

A case was registered under the Arms Act at the KUK police station. He was produced before a court which sent him to jail.

In another case of the Arms Act, the CIA-2 unit arrested an illegal weapon supplier. The accused was identified as Sanjay, a resident of Pehowa.
