A 45-year old man allegedly died by suicide along with his four children by jumping in front of a train in Faridabad on Tuesday afternoon. All five died on the spot.

Initial police investigation revealed the deceased doubted his wife’s character. There was a fight between the partners in the morning. In the afternoon, the deceased left the house saying he would take the children to the park, but instead he died by suicide by jumping in front of a train going towards Delhi.

It is also being said that before taking the extreme step, he had given cold drinks and chips to the children. When the train arrived, the children tried to escape, but the man grabbed them in his arms.

According to the police, the incident took place around 12.55 pm when the Golden Temple Express train was about to reach Ballabgarh station. “In the preliminary investigation, the reason for suicide is suspected to be an extramarital affair of deceased’s wife. The deceased’s brother, sister and relatives have been informed about the incident. The postmortem of the bodies will be conducted only after the relatives arrive,” said GRP DSP Rajesh Chechi said.
