The court of Additional Sessions Judge Amit Garg also imposed a fine of Rs 2.10 lakh on him, out of which Rs 1.60 lakh will be given to the victim.
Superintendent of Police Siddhant Jain said a case was registered by a woman investigating officer under sections 363, 366A, and 34 of the IPC after the girl’s father filed a complaint at the Fatehabad city police station, alleging that Kumar had lured and kidnapped his underage daughter.
On 25 February, 2023, the police found the victim, and recorded her statement under Section 164 of the CrPC. Based on her statement, charges of rape under sections 376(2)(N) and 376(3) of the IPC and sections 4(2) and 6 of the POCSO Act were added. The accused was arrested on 2 March, 2023, and the final chargesheet was filed on 5 May, 2023.
