A man, allegedly under the influence of liquor, poured petrol on his wife and set her on fire at their residence at Rampura village near here on Friday night.

Their young daughter also sustained burn injuries when she intervened in the matter.

The man later attempted self-immolation. The injured, Manoj and his wife Anita, are currently undergoing treatment at the PGIMS in Rohtak.

Some domestic dispute was believed to be the reason behind the incident. The police are probing the matter.
