As per police sources and local residents, rivalry between the gangs of Himanshu, alias Bhau, and Ankit, alias Baba, is stated to have led to the murder.

Anil had a criminal record and was reportedly associated with the Baba gang. Anil's brother Phool Singh said a member of the Bhau gang had been murdered nearly four years ago.

"They blamed my brother Anil for the murder, though it was not proved. He (Anil) has been killed in connection with that murder," he stated.

A police team led by senior officials rushed to the spot and sent the body of the deceased for a post-mortem examination.

A team of forensic experts also reached the village to examine the scene of crime.

Investigation was going on at the time of filing this report.
