Sunny, a father of two, who worked as a driver, was stabbed when he was trying to mediate in a dispute in his in-laws' village Takhana. He was accompanying his brother-in-law Sunil to resolve the dispute.

Sunny was rushed to the government hospital in Taraori, where he was declared dead by doctors. The incident led to anger among people. In retaliation, some people allegedly set the house of the accused on fire after the incident. Police and fire personnel quickly reached the crime scene to control the blaze and prevent further violence.

Sunny was called by his brother-in-law Sunil as he needed his help to resolve a dispute with their neighbours in Thakana village. Sunny and Sunil tried to calm down the situation, but were instead attacked by the accused.

“We have registered a murder case against eight persons and started an investigation,” said Mukesh Kumar, SHO, Taraori.
