Manohar Lal Khattar donates ancestral village house for e-library

Rohtak, January 29

Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today handed over his ancestral house situated at Baniyani village in Rohtak district to the village community.

Khattar halted at his village while travelling from Rohtak to Bhiwani this morning. Interacting with villagers, he expressed his intention to donate his village house for social work. The villagers hailed the CM’s proposal, expressing their support through applause.

“I spent my childhood in this village. My ancestral house reminds me of my parents. My uncle’s son and I have decided to donate our houses built on 200 square yards for the welfare of the local community,” Khattar said.

An e-library would be established on the premises for the benefit of the village children, youth and the elderly, he said. “I want the house to serve a noble purpose. It should be converted into a centre where the children can assemble to receive education and pave the way for a bright future,” he added.

To ensure the effective utilisation of property, he proposed the constitution of a village committee to manage its affairs.

The CM interacted with local residents, including farmers, and discussed the proposal to construct a road along Baniyani minor, from the Bhiwani road to Mokhra road. He was welcomed at the village by former sarpanch and district president of Kisan Morcha Bansi Vij, former MLA Sarita Narayan, and other prominent residents.

Rohtak Deputy Commissioner Ajay Kumar, District Superintendent of Police Himanshu Garg and leaders of the ruling party were also present there.
