Members of the ruling party along with various organisations on Monday organised a foot march in support of National Register of Citizens (NRC) and the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). The members submitted a memorandum to Deputy Commissioner Sumedha Kataria.

Members of various organisations, including Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Bajrang Dal, RSS, Gauraksha Dal, Arya Samaj, Akhil Bharatiya Vikas Parishad, Aggarwal Sangathan, Patanjali Yoga Samiti, Samaj Sewa Sangathan along with other social organisations, gathered at Sanjay Chowk on NH-44 today and held a foot march to the mini secretariat.

BJP MLA Pramod Vij, former minister Krishan Lal Panwar, Mayor Avneet Kaur, Dr Archana Gupta, Rajesh Goyal of RSS, Azaad Singh Arya and Hariom Tayal addressed the people.

They said that some people were trying to mislead the people over CAA and NRC. Both the acts are in the favour of the country’s security and no Indian resident would be harassed in the name of citizenship, they claimed.

BJP councillors Dushyant Bhatt, Ashok Kataria, Sanjeev Dahiya, Anil Bajaj, Attar Singh Rawal, Pawan Gogalia, Surender Ahlawat were also present during the foot march.
