A hostel supervisor, an assistant, a programmer, and a bearer have allegedly played roles in smuggling and tampering of answer sheets. These were rewritten by students, and then re-submitted to the secrecy branch of the university to fraudulently secure marks.

As per official documents accessed by The Tribune, the police are yet to formally include the four individuals in the investigation. However, the university administration has already granted permission to question them under Section 17A of the Prevention of Corruption Act. “The supervisor was among those who contacted the accused to help certain students from the 2020 and 2021 batches pass their 2023 exams in exchange for money,” said the sources.

DSP Dalip Singh, who is probing the case, confirmed that the four employees would soon be issued notices to join the investigation. “Permission for that has already been taken from the university authorities,” he added.
