MC starts beautification work of 3 main roads in Yamunanagar, Jagadhri

The Municipal Corporation Yamunanagar-Jagadhri (MCYJ) has started beautification work of three main roads of the twin cities Yamunanagar and Jagadhri.

The work of installing poles for setting up LED lights on Gymkhana Club Road and Govindpuri Road have been started.

Under the Divya Nagar Yojana, the MCYJ has decided to undertake beautification work of three roads, Gymkhana Club Road, Govindpuri Road from Madhu Hotel Chowk to Kanhaiya Sahib Chowk and Workshop Road from Shaheed Bhagat Singh Chowk to Maharana Pratap Chowk.

Municipal Commissioner Ayush Sinha said all three main roads of the twin cities would be beautified by spending about Rs 7 crore.

He said the work of installing poles for setting up LED lights on Gymkhana Club Road and Govindpuri Road had been started. He further said all these three roads would be beautified within six months.

“Under the Divya Nagar Yojana, the beautification work of the twin cities’ three roads will be completed within six months,” said Sinha. He further said the New Year 2025 was going to be special for the Municipal Corporation.

“After the elections of the Municipal Corporation in near future, the MCYJ will get a new Mayor and new councillors in 22 wards. With the formation of the new House, many projects will get momentum and new development works will be done in the twin cities,” said Sinha.

He said recently, the MCYJ had started the work of installing 41,000 new smart LED lights in the twin cities.

“LED lights are being installed in Ward 5, 14 and 18. The work of installing LED lights is also likely to be completed by April of the New Year,” said Sinha.

He said a community centre was also being constructed at Badhi Majra village at a cost of Rs 2.47 crore and this work was in the final stage.

He added that the MCYJ had also started the construction work of an open air theatre and auditorium in Sector 17 of Jagadhri.

“The construction of the open air theatre and auditorium will be done at a fast pace in 2025. The concerned agency has been given time to complete its construction in 18 months,” said Sinha.
