An enforcement team of the Municipal Corporation, Manesar, demolished as many as 100 meat shops operating at various locations in the industrial township, including green belts, without a valid licence from the civic body.

On the directions of MC Commissioner Renu Sogan, the demolition drive was carried out in Bans, Aliyar, Dhana, Shankar Ki Dhani and Sector 7 areas by assistant executive engineer Ravindra Dahiya.

The Commissioner stated that they had initiated a special drive to remove encroachments from all government lands across the industrial township. It would be conducted continuously for a month.

She said the MC would take strict legal action if vendors again encroach upon the cleared land or site. Disciplinary action would be initiated against MC officials/employees if encroachment was found on green belts.

“I have ordered regular monitoring of government lands, particularly, green belts. Residents have also been requested to report encroachments in their areas to the civic body,” she said.
