According to officials, the park will feature an approximately two-kilometre-long walking track. There will be swings and a playground for children, and four huts will be constructed so families can enjoy time outdoors. The park will be lush with greenery and flowering plants. An open-air gym, drinking-water points, high-mast lights, a guard room and separate toilets for men and women will also be set up.

“The Municipal Corporation has issued a tender for the park’s construction. The work has been allotted. The land has recently been marked and surveyed. The agency will soon begin construction work,” said Municipal Commissioner Mahabir Parsad.

Mayor Suman Bahmani said a five-foot-high boundary wall would be built to prevent illegal encroachment from the Old Hamida side. She added that construction would begin after the land was filled and levelled.

“A beautiful and green park will be built on this land. It will have a 1.8-metre-wide and two-kilometre-long walking track. People coming to the park will be able to take a walk on it. Landscaping will be done and green grass will be planted across the entire park. Swings, a playground and an open gym will be created for children,” said the Mayor.

She added that four huts would be built at suitable distances within the park for families to sit and relax.

“Due to this lighting arrangement, people will be able to walk and exercise in the park even at night and early in the morning. There will be a separate electrical room and a guard room. Benches will be installed at various places for sitting, where senior citizens can sit and relax. Taps will be installed at various places for drinking water and irrigation,” said Mayor Suman Bahmani.
