Earlier this week, at least 5,000 saplings of trees were planted in the Sector 21 area with the help of locals, while 100 saplings were planted with the help of police officers and employees at the Mahila Thana Palam Vihar, Gurugram.

In the coming weeks, trees and shrubs would also be planted along roads in the residential and commercial sectors, near water bodies, cremation grounds, drains, urban forests, railway tracks, STPs, schools and colleges, said officials.
