Mukherjee gave numerous examples of fake news and devious disinformation campaigns for vested interest and malafide purposes. “Students must check the veracity of information and news before sharing it on various social media handles. Fact-check before forwarding & sharing should be the mantra of students,” he said.

Mukherjee administered the pledge of consuming and sharing information responsibly and building a healthier information eco-system in the country.
