The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences has given its approval for two diploma seats of Diplomate of National Board (DNB) course in the Civil Hospital, Ambala Cantonment.

As per information, the hospital has got two diploma seats in DNB (Ophthalmology). Currently, there are four eye surgeons in the Civil Hospital. Dr Renu Beri Pajni, head of the Eye Department, said the government had started the DNB diploma course in civil hospitals to overcome the shortage of specialist doctors. Under the programme, more specialist doctors will be available in civil hospitals of Haryana.

An Inspection was done in May 2022 to check the facilities at the Ambala Cantonment hospital by DNB accessor Dr JS Bhalla of Deen Dayal Hospital, New Delhi. Dr Rakesh Sehal, PMO, Civil Hospital, Ambala Cantonment, said: “Earlier, two seats in the Radiology Department were approved for the hospital. Now, the Eye Department has got the nod for two DNB seats. It will strengthen the health facilities at the hospital.”
