A delegation of the Haryana Government PWD Mechanical Workers Union today met Irrigation and Water Resources Minister Shruti Chaudhry here in support of their demands.

The delegation, led by Ishwar Sharma and Sandal Singh Rana, president and general secretary, respectively of the union, brought to the notice of the minister the retrenchment of the Irrigation Department employees employed under the Haryana Kaushal Rozgar Nigam Limited (HKRNL). The delegation demanded that the retrenched staff should immediately be brought under the provision of the Haryana Contractual Employees (Security of Service), Act, 2024.

Other demands of the union included re-introduction of the old pension scheme, regularisation of the contractual staff, promotion and increments to Class IV staff and cashless cards for the medical treatment of the staff.

The minister assured the delegation that their demands would be looked into sympathetically.
