Milk powder supply at Ambala govt schools inspected

Milk provided to students three days a week

The District Elementary Education Officer (DEEO), Ambala, on Saturday inspected the supply of milk powder at government schools and directed the school staff to ensure proper storage of the milk powder, in view of the rainy season.

As per the information, as part of the Midday Meal scheme, milk is provided to the students three days a week at government schools.

During the inspection, Ambala DEEO Sudhir Kalra inspected the packets and manufacturing and expiry date of the milk being supplied to Government Model Senior Secondary School, and Government Primary School of Police Lines, Ambala City.

Sudhir Kalra said, “Efforts are being made to provide quality and nutritious mid-day meals to government schools’ students. As part of the mid-day meal, milk is also provided three days a week, for which the dry flavoured milk is supplied by Vita Milk Plant to government schools. The milk packets were checked and the room designated for the storage of the milk powder and other ration supplies were also checked.”

“Directions were issued to the school staff to ensure that the ration supplies and milk powder were stored in safe and hygienic conditions, and take extra precautions due to the ongoing rainy season. Directions were also issued to ensure ample stocks and a constant supply of the milk powder,” he added.
