Min Nagar recommends police protection after land grab plaint

Minister of State for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Rajesh Nagar chaired a District Public Relations and Grievance Redressal Committee meeting in Kurukshetra on Friday.

Seventeen complaints were listed for the meeting, of which 14 were resolved while the remaining were kept pending.

During the meeting, a boy, in his complaint, said, after the death of his parents and grandparents, he was alone and his aunt, who had come from England, was pressurising and harassing him. The boy claimed that his aunt and uncle wanted to grab his property.

He approached the Shahabad police station in this regard, but appropriate action was not taken, the boy claimed.

The boy, who had come to the meeting with some relatives, expressed disappointment with the behaviour of the SHO of the Shahabad police station.

The complainant expressed threat to his life, following which the minister recommended police protection, and transferred the matter to the CIA-2 unit of the Kurukshetra police for investigation.

The minister issued directions to hold an inquiry against the SHO, and directed the Shahabad SDM and the Kurukshetra ASP to probe the matter. Thanesar MLA Ashok Arora, during the meeting, raised issues of a garbage dumping zone, lack of rooms for patients at the LNJP district Civil Hospital and clean water.

Following a complaint regarding drainage, the minister directed the Thanesar Municipal Council to clean drains in the inner areas of the city regularly, and, if needed, demolished a ramp.
