The Mines and Geology Department, Yamunanagar, has issued show-cause notice to 69 stone crushers and screening plants in Yamunanagar district.

The notices were issued by Dr Rajesh Kumar, Assistant Mining Engineer of the Mining Department, Yamunanagar, as a difference was reportedly found between the physical stock of mining minerals lying on the premises of stone crushers and screening plants and the stock data available on Haryana Mines and Geology Information System (HMGIS) portal.

According to the information available, officials of the Mining Department, Yamunanagar, including Inspectors Rohit Rana and Aman Kumar, had carried out an inspection to check/assess physical stock of mining minerals available on the premises of the plants.

The officials of the department reportedly found excess minerals on the premises of most of the plants in comparison to the stock available on HMGIS portal.

After carrying out the inspection, Assistant Mining Engineer Dr Rajesh Kumar took swift action and issued show-cause notices to the owners of 69 plants of the district instructing them to deposit the fine (royalty and penalty amount).

Aman Kumar, Inspector of the Mining Department, said that out of the total 69 stone crushers and screening plants, the owners of 22 plants had paid the fine to the Mining Department. Owners of 47 plants were yet to deposit the fine.
