Haryana Urban Local Bodies Minister Anil Vij said till March 31, the state government had decided to give one-time waiver on the interest of property tax to those who had not paid their property tax dues from the year 2010-11 to 2020-21.

This decision will benefit about 18.80 lakh property tax payers of the state.

Vij said if such property taxpayers pay all their property tax dues by March 31, they would be given the benefit of one-time waiver on interest. He said whoever had arrears of property tax till March 31, 2021 and paid all his property tax by March 31would get one-time waiver in interest.

The Urban Local Bodies Minister said a proposal had been received in this regard that due to the prevailing conditions on account of Covid, a large number of property owners, facing financial crunch, could not take the benefit of property tax scheme announced by the government from time to time. Due to this, a decision was taken to provide relief.
