Minister announces Rs 21L grant for Sant Kabir hostel

Ranbir Gangwa, Minister for Public Works and Public Health Engineering, has announced a grant of Rs 21 lakh for the welfare and infrastructure development of the Sant Kabir Chhatrawas (hostel) in Hisar.

Gangwa attended the 627th Prakash Utsav of Sant Kabir as the chief guest on Sunday. Speaking at the event, he lauded the enduring teachings and philosophy of Kabir, noting that he dedicated his life to eradicating superstition and promoting social harmony beyond caste and sectarian boundaries.

Describing Kabir as a visionary, Gangwa said, “He gave humanity a message of equality and unity.” He praised the management and facilities of the hostel, assuring that the government would take further steps to strengthen such institutions in order to provide a better environment for students.

He emphasised that under the leadership of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, the Haryana Government is committed to inclusive governance and is celebrating the birth anniversaries of revered spiritual and social figures at the state level. “Such initiatives promote social awareness and unity across communities,” Gangwa stated. He also underlined that safeguarding the rights of the Depressed Scheduled Castes community remains a key priority for the state government.

Referring to employment policies, Gangwa said that deserving youth are now securing government jobs on merit, without the need for recommendations or bribes. He credited this to the state’s transparent recruitment policy, adding, “Thousands of youths have been employed under the ‘no slip, no bribe’ system, which rewards hard work and integrity.”

He further claimed that developmental projects across Haryana, particularly in infrastructure such as roads, buildings and water supply, are being executed with transparency and quality. The Public Health Engineering Department is actively working to modernise water supply and sewerage systems to enhance basic amenities, he said.

Nalwa MLA Randhir Panihar also addressed the gathering, stating that the teachings of Sant Kabir remain highly relevant in today’s world. He urged the youth to draw inspiration from Kabir’s ideals. “Kabir’s life is a symbol of truth, equality and social harmony. Adopting his path could help eliminate many social evils,” Panihar remarked.

He called upon society to strengthen unity, brotherhood and mutual understanding, and to imbibe Kabir’s values in everyday life. He further acknowledged the progress made by marginalised communities in Haryana, crediting the state government’s proactive policies for bringing about visible improvements.
