Yamunanagar: Minister orders patwari’s suspension in bribery case
Yamunanagar, July 12
Haryana Transport and Woman and Child development Minister Aseem Goel has ordered the suspension of a patwari, who allegedly took a bribe of Rs 2,000 for entering mutation of a piece of land. The minister also ordered an inquiry against the tehsildar in connection with the mutation case.
The minister passed this order while chairing a meeting of the District Public Relations and Grievances Redressal Committee held at the Mini Secretariat in Jagadhri on Thursday.
In the meeting of the grievances redressal committee, a woman of Musimbal village told the minister that her husband used to beat her after drinking alcohol. She said that she, along with her four-year-old daughter, was now living with her parents.
“There is some ancestral land in the name of my husband. I wanted to get some share from the said land. My father went to the patwari in Chhachhrauli tehsil to enter the mutation of the said land. The patwari made my father make several rounds of his office and also took Rs 2,000 from him for this work. My father is a poor man,” the complainant told the minister in the meeting.
Taking the allegation seriously, the minister asked Deputy Commissioner Manoj Kumar to suspend the patwari and conduct an inquiry against the tehsildar of Chhachhrauli.
