The CIA-1 unit of Kurukshetra Police nabbed a miscreant after a brief exchange of fire near Pratapgarh village on the national highway

The suspect was identified as Sukhvinder Singh alias Sukhi, a resident of Kurukshetra. There were 15 cases, including attempt to murder, extortion, and under the Prisons Act against him at different police stations.

He took a bullet in the leg and was taken to LNJP Civil Hospital.

He had recently demanded extortion from a former sarpanch of Kheri Markanda village.

As per CIA-1 in-charge Surender Kumar, following a tip-off, a search operation was launched and Sukhvinder was spotted near Pratapgarh. He opened fire at the police party, which retaliated.

A country-made weapon and three live cartridges were seized from him.
