Alleging irregularities in the Barara Municipal Committee, Mullana Congress MLA Varun Chaudhry has requested the Haryana Urban Local Bodies (ULB) Minister to conduct an inquiry into the instalation of CCTV cameras, streetlights and laying of streets.

The Congress MLA has handed over a letter to ULB Minister Kamal Gupta, seeking appropriate action in the alleged irregularities. Chaudhry said, “It came to my notice through residents that CCTV cameras were installed with an annual maintenance contract but the cameras are not working. Most of the streetlights installed are also not in working. Some of the lights were removed for maintenance but have not been re-installed.”
