State legislators, including 44 first-time MLAs, will get tips on parliamentary processes and procedures from experts of the Parliamentary Research and Training Institute for Democracies (PRIDE) during a two-day orientation programme beginning January 21.

The orientation programme, which forms part of the three-day special session of the Haryana Vidhan Sabha that begins January 20, will see experts from PRIDE — the training and research arm of the Lok Sabha — deliberate on an array of issues of legislative importance. Members of Parliament from the state have also been invited to take part in the programme.

“The orientation programme will go a long way in helping legislators, especially first-time MLAs, in discharging their duties as public representatives effectively,” Haryana Speaker Gian Chand Gupta said.
