Modi applauds Saini govt’s policy of ‘no parchi, no kharchi’ for hiring

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today praised the BJP-led Haryana Government under Nayab Singh Saini for its merit-based job recruitment scheme, which emphasises “no parchi, no kharchi” (no favouritism, no money for jobs). Modi highlighted the success of this initiative while inaugurating and laying foundation stones for multiple health sector projects worth Rs 12,850 crore in New Delhi.

The Prime Minister emphasised the significant impact of the scheme on Haryana’s youth, with around 26,000 jobs provided solely on merit. “The Saini Government has brought smiles to the faces of thousands of youths by ensuring fair job opportunities,” he said.

Following its third consecutive win in the October 5 Assembly polls, the BJP aims to showcase the Haryana model in upcoming elections in Maharashtra and Jharkhand. BJP president Mohan Lal Badoli stated, “The Haryana win, which has primarily been credited to ‘no parchi, no kharchi’, will set the tone for BJP’s win in Maharashtra and Jharkhand. This unique system is the Haryana Government’s USP, and Modi’s praise for it will inspire the BJP to work with renewed commitment.”

Originally implemented by former Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar in 2014, the “no parchi, no kharchi” recruitment model has become a powerful slogan for the BJP, credited with contributing to its electoral success in Haryana.

In the run-up to the Assembly polls, senior BJP functionaries, including Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, had flaunted its ‘no parchi, no kharchi’ system before the Haryana voters. In fact, the BJP leaders conceded that merit-based job recruitments were one of the major factors for the saffron party winning the election for the third time in a row.
