The limits of the MC now include 75 residential sectors and 62 villages. The MC is the largest civic body in the state.

He said the authorities had begun the exercise for a property tax survey in the new areas. The annual income from property tax, which was about Rs 50 crore, was likely to go up by 60 per cent, he said.

Municipal Commissioner Yashpal Yadav said instructions had been issued to prepare property IDs in the newly added areas.

Claiming poor facilities, Satinder Duggal of the Neharpar Vikas Morcha said a separate civic zone for Greater Faridabad should be formed to speed up development works before levying property tax.
